What to Know Before Deciding on Surgery
Two separate tasks
Girth and length are addressed by different techniques. Thickening uses a soft medical silicone implant placed under the skin along the cavernous bodies; lengthening uses a modified ligamentotomy, in which the suspensory ligament of the cavernous bodies is divided. In some cases both are combined within one procedure.

Why the implant rather than injections
The common alternative for thickening is injections of hyaluronic or polylactic acid. The injected graft resorbs over time, which makes the result unpredictable and short-lived.
The domestic implant developed by Professor Kurbatov and his colleagues is made of medical-grade silicone 6–7 mm thick, has passed toxicological tests, and holds a certificate of conformity and a Roszdravnadzor registration certificate. A detailed comparison is in the articles section.
How treatment is organised
The sequence is the same for both surgeries: consultation and examination, preoperative work-up, the surgery itself, and follow-up appointments. An in-person consultation before surgery is mandatory — the anatomy is assessed there and the approach is decided.

Thickening with an implant is performed at the Professor's Maka-Med Clinic — a resident of the Moscow Innovation Cluster Skolkovo, holding the exclusive right to perform such surgeries in Russia. Lengthening is performed at SM-Clinic on Leningradsky Prospekt and at Maka-Med.
